Keeping It Real What Helped Me Start Healing
π₯ Keeping It Real
What Helped Me Start Healing π
Healing after deep loss does not happen overnight.
And if I’m being honest… there are still hard days.
There are still moments when grief hits unexpectedly.
There are still tears.
There are still questions.
But little by little, God has helped me begin healing.
One of the first things that helped me was realizing I didn’t have to pretend I was okay.
I had to be honest—with myself, with God, and with trusted people around me.
I learned that healing starts when we stop hiding the pain.
Another thing that helped me was staying close to the Lord. π
There were days all I could do was pray a simple prayer.
Days I would sit quietly with worship music playing.
Days I would read one Bible verse over and over just to make it through.
And God met me there.
Not always with instant answers…
But with peace.
With comfort.
With strength for that day.
I also learned the importance of talking to people who truly cared.
People who listened.
People who encouraged me.
People who let me grieve without trying to rush the process.
Healing also came through small steps.
Getting outside.
Taking care of myself.
Starting new routines.
Finding little moments of joy again without feeling guilty for smiling.
And one of the biggest things I’ve learned is this—
Healing does not mean forgetting.
It means learning how to carry the love and memories forward while still allowing yourself to live.
I believe God wants us to heal, grow, and continue walking forward one step at a time.
If you are grieving right now, please know this:
You do not have to rush your healing.
You do not have to walk through it alone.
And there is still hope, even after deep pain.

Praying peace, comfort, and strength over everyone reading this today. π
