New old journey

Hello everyone! I am sorry it's been a while since I have been on here. I am trying really hard to get back to blogging and keeping you all updated on what has been going on in my life, so here is one of my latest updates.

As many of you know, I have been on an insulin pump for several years. I have also used a Dexcom to help keep track of my blood sugars. But for the past month, I decided to make a change and go back to taking insulin shots and checking my blood sugar with finger sticks—no pump at all.

I had several reasons for making this decision, but one of the biggest reasons was the cost of all the supplies needed for the insulin pump and Dexcom. Living with Type 1 Diabetes is expensive, and sometimes we have to sit down and really look at what is best for us and what we can afford.

I have to admit, though, that I have been pleasantly surprised this past month. My blood sugar readings have been great! πŸ™ŒπŸ’™

For me, right now, taking insulin shots and checking my blood sugar manually has been much cheaper and, honestly, easier in my opinion. Instead of having to purchase all the supplies that go along with my pump and continuous glucose monitor, I am buying insulin, needles, and test strips.

Now, I want to make it clear that I am not saying an insulin pump or Dexcom is bad. They have helped many people, including me, over the years, and everyone with Type 1 Diabetes has to find what works best for their own body, lifestyle, and finances. What works for me may not work for someone else.

That is one thing I have learned after living with Type 1 Diabetes for so many years—there is not always a one-size-fits-all answer.

We have to learn our bodies, work with our doctors, and make the best decisions we can for ourselves.

For this season of my life, going back to injections has been the right decision for me, and I am thankful that my blood sugars have been doing so well. I will continue to watch my readings closely, take my insulin as prescribed, and do what I need to do to take care of the body God has given me.

And of course, through every decision, every high, every low, and every change, I continue to seek the Lord.

The Bible tells us:

πŸ“– "Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways acknowledge Him, and He shall direct your paths." — Proverbs 3:5-6

That is what I am trying to do in every area of my life, including my health. I pray, I seek wisdom, I listen to medical advice, and I trust God to help guide me.

Sometimes God leads us into new seasons, and sometimes He leads us back to something we have done before. Either way, we can trust Him to give us wisdom for the journey.

I am thankful for another month of good blood sugar readings. I am thankful for the ability to get my insulin and supplies. And most of all, I am thankful that no matter what changes in life, God never changes.

πŸ“– "Jesus Christ is the same yesterday and today and forever." — Hebrews 13:8

So here I am, keeping it real once again! Life with Type 1 Diabetes is always changing, and we have to be willing to learn, adjust, and do what is best for us.

I am excited to get back to blogging and sharing more of my journey with all of you. Thank you for sticking with me, praying for me, and encouraging me.

Keep the faith, keep moving forward, and remember that God is with us through every change and every season of life. πŸ™πŸ’™

One day at a time. One decision at a time. One prayer at a time. And always—God first.
